Staverley Nature Reserve in Macro

A few weeks ago we decided to go for a walk around Askham Bog as we had not been in years. Unfortunately, when we got there it is was closed as they were repairing the boardwalks. Not to waste the time, one quick google later, we had found Staverley Nature Reserve. There is a lovely three(ish) mile loop around the reserve with several bird hides. In one of the hides, a gentleman introduced us to the Merlin Bird App which listens to the bird song in the area, through your phone, and tells you what birds are about. Definitely worth downloading as it is free.

We went back for a second time, yes we liked it that much, and I took a macro lens to do something different. Several hundred photos later, as well as a lot of crawling through the undergrowth for James and I, these are what I managed to capture. Macro is definitely harder than wildlife as insect move just as quickly but the focusing is an absolute nightmare! More practise needed. Hope you like what I got.
