Byland in the Sunshine

With Lyns and James out this evening, I took the opportunity to get out with my camera for a few hours. Having scoffed down down some dinner after finishing work, I jumped into the car and headed out. By the time I reached Byland Abbey the shadows were truly beginning to lengthen as the sun was going down. This did mean though that there was a lovely warm light cast on the landscape, when the sun popped out from the clouds that is.

I had checked the English Heritage website before heading out and whilst they don’t condone Drones flying over their sites, they are accepting that as long as they are flown legally there is little that they can do to stop it. Given that I was there on my own, I got it up, taking off from the public footpath. The views were phenomenal, even more so when bathed in the lovely golden light. After that, it was into the abbey. I did not take too many pictures but it is as much about being out that taking photos. A truly lovely way to spend an evening.
