For a last day treat, we all headed into York for breakfast at Brew and Brownie, followed by a walk around town. James was in nursery so it was an adults treat. The breakfast was a great start to the day, everyone had pancakes, except me who had a sausage and bacon sandwich. If you have not been before, be warned, it is pricey, but very nice.
After breakfast we went for a walk through the museum gardens to let everything settle. The sun was out and it was a stunning day, perfect for a stroll around.
Then, of course, no touristy trip to York would be complete without a trip along at least part of the city walls. We went along my favourite part of the walls, directly behind the Minster. I do not think any other part of the walls comes anywhere close to this, my opinion here though.
After exploring the shops Lauren wanted to go to Betty’s for lunch. However, when we got there, it was queued out so we bought a sandwich and headed to the Minster Gardens to sit outside and enjoy the weather. After Lyns and I had scoffed our lunch we had an impromptu photo shoot.
The past few days have flown by but it has been lovely and today was a fab way to finish the visit.
