James and I had a Sunday to ourselves so I promised him we could go somewhere exciting. Having driven past the sign of Monk Park Farm on the way back from my run, I thought he would love it. Just outside Thirsk, it was about twenty minutes from Nana and Grandads, where we had been staying the night before as Lyns had been on nights,
We got there relatively early but yet the car park was already full. That had to be a good sign. We entered the Farm and there is loads to do. Of course though, the play park and a sand pit took priority and James made a beeline for them. No problem, meant I could sit down and relax in the sun whilst he played. Now.... how to stop myself falling asleep?
The little man had a good long play on all the toys before we headed off for a wander around the farm to see the animals. It is set in a huge area with loads to see. James enjoyed feeding the animals and he was amazed by the size of the pigs!
After our long walk, which included a play on a zip line, it was time to have lunch. We had brought a picnic so we settled down to eat that, however, there was time for both of us to have an ice cream afterwards.
After lunch it was lamb feeding time. No pictures of this as James was not very keen to hold the bottle so I had a bottle in each hand. Once the lambs’ hunger had been satisfied, there was time for one more play before we headed home to see mummy.
They do rides around the farm, so as a final treat we had a go. James loved it and he deliberately sat at the back as it was ‘more bouncy’.
After this, it was time to head home. James would have quite happily stayed longer as he was enjoying it so much but, alas, we had mummy to wake up and tea to cook. I am sure we will be back though.
