So, first post in about three months. Three months of being stuck at home, three months of working working from home, three months of no fun, oh wait, that last bit is not true!

With the lock down being lifted a little and good weather being forecasted, we decided to head to the coast to let us all run off a little steam. We expected the coast to be busy so we got there for just before 8am and were on our way home by 10. Just as well really as the cars were streaming in by this point and social distancing was, well, non existent.

When we got there, the little man was off, sprinting across the sands, Jess hot on his tail.

Over the course of the walk, James’ imagination went into overdrive. Every rock was a dinosaur egg, every hole was a dinosaur footprint. He loved being out in the sun with sand beneath his feet.

After walking a few miles along the beach, we headed back for some breakfast. Lyns and I sat down to a cup of tea and a croissant, whilst James had brioche. Sat in the sun, eating breakfast by the sea, could life get any better? It was certainly a lovely break after the weeks of being inside.

Sunday we headed up to Sutton Bank for a walk with mum and dad. The weather was decidedly different, gone was the sunshine, replaced with dark clouds that threatened rain. Luckily we avoided the rain, but it came by close.

Thinking it would be busy, and we had left it late, we headed up to the glider club to start or walk. We were right, the car park under the white horse was heaving as we drove past.

As you can imagine, James jumped in every puddle possible, he had an absolute wail of a time splashing everyone.

We had just walked without a plan of where to go. We ended up using a bit of trial and error getting back to the cars, luckily we found a, slightly overgrown, footpath that seemed to lead more or less to the cars.

Afterwards, we gate crashed Nana and Grandads. The weather had cleared up and the sun had come out.

All in all a lovely way to break free of the shackles of lockdown, or at least get out of the house for a couple of days!
