So this weekend is a little different. Instead of oodles of pictures of James, I thought I would try my hand at photographing something even smaller, insects. I would love to get the classic picture of a dragonfly sitting on a reed. To this extent, I was at Strensall Common early to see what I could find. I had a good explore around one of the ponds and found a few insects. Highlight was the moment I stepped onto a clear bit of ground and put my foot about six inches away from an adder. Luckily the snake shot off, not without leaving me some what shocked. Once it had disappeared I launched myself to the nearest bit of clear ground and stood there adrenaline pumping. I realised that I was surrounded my a sea of tall grass to wade through to get out. Definitely a man up and get on with it moment!
The afternoon was spent in safer surroundings, mum and dads back garden to be precise. Whilst James had a nap I spent a happy hour or so chasing butterflies and bees around.
Something a bit different and, hopefully, not too bad an effort!
